Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist. She is a reporter for more than 45 years focusing on the people suffering from war zones and natural disasters. Curry was a reporter for wars covering Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist, television anchor, news reporter and anchor. She was well-known for her role as a reporter for the Today program, which was a morning news program that aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was known for her coverage of humanitarian crises in war-torn countries and on natural disasters. Curry's father was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. She met her mother during the time she was living with her father in Japan after World War II. Her father served serving in the military, and her family moved quite a bit. They eventually arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. Curry graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism at the University of Oregon. The diversity of her experiences and her life experiences could have contributed to her compassionate way of communicating on international matters. Curry graduated in Ashland secondary school. She set the stage for an enviable career after she began her career in broadcasting as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She later became the first female news reporter for the station, at just 22 years old. Then, she moved into the role of anchor and reporter at KGW which is an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. A few years later, she moved to Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. During her time with the station for seven years that she earned two Emmy Awards.
